     Whether you're gone for a night, a week, or even a month or more, we do it all.... meals, medication, recreation, bathing, grooming and quality time with caring staff.  Our furry guests that are accustomed to a pampered lifestyle will be right at home in any of our 33 Luxury Suites.   

 

     Keeping a clean and safe environment is very important to us at Bark Avenue.  All suites are cleaned daily and sanitized before new guests move in.  

 

About the Owners.....

     I (Wendy Grotheer) bought an existing grooming salon called The Schnauzer Shop on August 3rd, 2003 and began grooming that very day.  I guess I'll never know exactly HOW I knew I could do it (groom, that is), but wow, look at how far I've come.  I always jokingly tell people that I must have been a groomer in my former life! :-)  

 

     I began grooming competitions in May of 2005 in Entry Division and as of May 2008, have worked my way through Intermediate Division and am now placing in Open Division.  It just so happened that while attending a competition in Atlanta, GA in March of 2006, I needed to board my Giant Schnauzer, Diego... who at that time was a mere 5 months old.  Well, long story short, his boarding experience was NOT good and I said then and there, that Tyler needed a new boarding facility.... so, here we are today.  My mother and I started planning it on a napkin in Denny's on Hwy 69 one morning and it took about 2 1/2 years, but we made it!  LOTS of red tape, especially since we are two women and have never done this before.  I have to say... if not for my mom (Terry Foote), there is no way I could have done this on my own... I owe her a LOT! :)  She's been there for me every step and has stood behind me and encouraged me in all aspects of my new career.  She had her doubts though at the beginning LOL.

 

     I would also like to give a HUGE thanks to all my customers who have stuck with me for all these years and through the couple of moves I've made to find my permanent place in Tyler...   I hope to continue the same service you've grown accustomed to and really hope that you like our new facility because without everyone's support and love of their furry family members, none of this could be possible.
